Network test
We notice that you are trying to start the instruction without IPv4. This is the most used Internet Protocol and the only one that is supported by our video player. Switch to a different network or follow the instruction on another device such as a phone or tablet. Having only an IPv6 address can be caused by DirectAccess VPN. Do you think this is the case and you have no option to use another device? Then contact your IT department / supplier.
Your internet speed is good.
Green means that your download speed is at or above the lower limit that we have set in order to be able to watch the videos in the highest quality and to be able to use all other functionalities in the instruction without noticeable delay. We do not measure the stability of your network. Hence, keep in mind that other people on the network can affect the download speed and stability if they are also following an instruction or causing other network activity. Wireless network connections can measure a high download speed, but are extra sensitive to disruptions and signal attenuation, which means that speeds can vary greatly. This can affect the user experience.
Your internet speed is moderate.
Orange means that your download speed is not high enough for the highest quality video, so the quality will automatically be lowered. Don't worry, your download speed is not too slow for the instruction and should be enough for a nice user experience. Loading times can sometimes occur before you can watch the videos. Be aware that other people on the network can affect the download speed and stability if they are also following an instruction or causing other network activity. Wireless network connections can measure a high download speed, but are extra sensitive to disruptions and signal attenuation, which means that speeds can vary greatly. This can affect the user experience.
Your internet speed is bad.
Red means that your download speed is below the recommended lower limit for watching the videos at the lowest possible quality and using all the features without any delay. Videos will sometimes load for a few seconds at this speed and the user experience is likely to deteriorate further when the network is heavily burdened. It is still possible to follow the instruction but be aware that the user experience will not be optimal. A wireless network connection with a low download speed will be more prone to network instability / interruption when used by multiple people. This can cause disruptions and signal attenuation causing speeds to vary widely. This can affect the user experience.
We like to see that all of our candidates have the best possible user experience while engaging with the instruction or test. ...An instructional session often consists in part of videos that must all be watched to the end. We offer these videos in varying video quality based on the current download speed to also take into account less fast network situations. The other part consists of text and different types of questions that need to be answered and saved. Despite the scalability of our video quality, the download speed (and network stability) before you start the instruction is an important factor in ensuring the best user experience. What we don't want is for you to run into a stalled movie, or a stalled instruction, halfway through the instruction! That's why we measure your current download speed and available internet protocol beforehand to be able to give you the best possible advice on that based on three possible colors as a result.
